Users of fragrances have probably read many different cologne reviews. These reviews display on websites, inside magazines and seen on television advertising campaigns. It can be a challenge to discuss colognes in simple words. The fact is you need to use the words in the cologne reviews to describe smells and fragrances. This does not always work really well when we’re describing colognes. Experience is often the best way to have a cologne review.
Examine a great many cologne reviews or even try to tell your closet friend about particular cologne and you will find that you are describing one scent in relation to another scent. Colognes might be compared to flowers or described as musky. These descriptions are based on our experience with fragrances as a whole and everyone else knowing what that particular scent is. I mean after all, what is musky?
To really love colognes and appreciate them, you should learn some of the basic ingredients that are found in colognes and perfumers. For example, bergamot is used to create a large variety of the citrus fragrances such as lemon, orange and others. When you read the bottles of colognes and see bergamot you will know instantly that the scent will have a citrus based fragrance to it. Or if you read cologne reviews and see the word bergamot in the ingredients list, you will know that the fragrance being reviewed is citrus smelling.
Take some time to do a little research and learn what the various cologne fragrance groups are and what they smell like. You can even test and smell various ones at department stores or from the advertising samples found in many magazine inserts. Familiarizing yourself with these scents and their base ingredients will make reading cologne reviews more enjoyable because you will virtually know already what the cologne smells like from your experience.
Many cologne reviews will suggest that a particular fragrance be worn in the evening or for causal wear during the day. You can decide for yourself which time of day you want to wear a particular fragrance. It is important to remember though that you do not want to over-power people around you with the fragrance. It can get stuffy in an office or be unappetizing in a crowded restaurant to be near someone who has heavily scented cologne on. Moderation in everything is always good and particularly so with cologne products.
Cologne reviews should provide you with places to actually find the fragrance. Ideally, there will be a picture of the cologne product so that you can view the packaging and marketing of the item. You will also want to use cologne reviews to make price comparison of products by different manufacturers. While there are a tremendous number of fragrances available on the market, you will quickly find that many cologne names are similar to one another cross the various brands.
The purpose of reading cologne reviews is to enjoy them. Discern for yourself what information was helpful and what information to ignore. Most importantly use the information in the cologne reviews with caution and always try to be flexible when selecting specific fragrances. After all what smells terrific and energizing to you might smell horrid to someone else. Fragrances are all subjective in nature.
